Ricky Campanelli y Su Orquesta

Born on August 14, 1979, in the culturally rich city of Montreal, Canada, Ricky Campanelli grew up surrounded by music. As the son of longtime musicians, his passion for sound and rhythm was nurtured from an early age, setting him on a lifelong journey of musical exploration and expression.

In 2011, Ricky was nominated for a Latin Grammy, a career milestone that saw him represent Canadian salsa on the world stage at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Known for his unique fusion of vintage and modern sounds, Ricky Campanelli has released four critically acclaimed salsa albums: Salsa Como Debe Ser, Modestia Aparte, Alma de Rumbero & Nos Curamos Con La Rumba

His style is a fresh take on '70s salsa, infused with classic swing and layered with today’s urban edge—a timeless tribute to old-school salsa that pulses with emotion, depth, and unforgettable groove.

This year, Halifax gets the full experience. Ricky Campanelli will be performing live with his full 11-piece orchestra, delivering a powerful, high-energy show that promises to be the heartbeat of the 2025 Halifax Salsa & Bachata Festival. Get ready to feel the rhythm. Live the culture.

With rich instrumentation and infectious energy, Son Latino makes it hard to stay in your seat.
